The Apology Line is a short documentary about people confessing the things which they had done from the little things down to the worse things, anonymously through a phone line. The documentary focused on themes such as secrets, remorse and shame. The film predominantly uses shots of buildings during the night, looking into the building windows, the streets and interior shots such as in a cafe where a woman is seen alone drinking her tea with half of her face cut off and in bedrooms where silhouettes can be seen through the curtains and faces half shown to further reinforce the anonymous approach. Some shots of the buildings are unfocused giving the lights a distorted effect which makes it hard to tell where the location is for the viewer. I think the technique of keeping the people in it anonymous relates to the content for example not showing faces. They are confessing what they have done wrong and it would spoil the whole thing if you knew who was talking and therefore I liked...
