Workshop
We had a read through in Dom’s session of
our script and ideas. This was beneficial because we got an insight into some
of the ideas from other students’ work who we’ve not heard about, elaborating
and giving essential feedback to one another such as why we liked each other’s
ideas and didn’t like the ideas and how they could improve it. We also had a
workshop involving the cinematography of drama films as a scene we watched from
The God Father. We had to replicate the scene using tables as the bar and having
a go on the dolly, moving around the make shift bar and trying to capture the
similar shots. This was so we could understand the awareness of the
mise-en-scene in shot design. This was very useful as it sparked up some ideas
for our drama film such as using the dolly to explore movements in a closed
spaced interior setting. The mise-en-scene will be important in our drama film
as it will be filmed in small interior spaces which would be difficult in
trying to pull off the dolly shots, but we will try our best. Overall sound
design and shot design will be the focus in telling our story as it contains
little dialogue.
